We are a friendly, family-oriented GP surgery, situated in the heart of Castlepollard Town, approximately 15 minutes from Mullingar, Co Westmeath. It is our goal to provide an efficient service, dealing quickly and accurately with the needs of our patients. Treating acute and chronic illnesses, our practice provides preventive care and health education for all ages and both sexes. Our knowledge base continues to expand with new advancements in medicine, and our promise is to continue this development with you, our patient, in mind.

It is important to have a family GP that you are happy with, one that you can rely on, and one that knows your family history inside out. Dr Emma O’Hara holds an honours Degree from Trinity College Dublin graduating in the year 2000 and completed the Cork GP scheme in 2004.

She completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Obstetric and Gynaecological Ultrasound through UCD in 2010 and a Masters in Medical Ultrasound through Bournemouth University in 2014.

She continues to have links with Midland Regional Hospital on a regular basis, performing gynaecology ultrasound (in the radiology department) and early pregnancy ultrasound (in the foetal assessment department).

Dr Emma O’Hara performs both transabdominal and transvaginal pelvic ultrasounds for follicle tracking, early pregnancy, and general gynaecology.



Profile: Debbie Maher

Debbie Maher is our practice nurse.

Qualified in 1994, she has experience in the areas of hospice and cancer care. Debbie worked at Tullamore hospital on the children’s ward for several years, and later trained in psychotherapy through Dublin City University. For 10 years, Debbie worked in emergency care through the Out of Hours service in Mullingar.

Since 2013, Debbie has worked as practice nurse in Castlepollard, bringing her skills of smear taking, childhood vaccination, wound care, diabetes care, ECG/Spirometry/24 hour BP monitoring to the surgery.
